テーマ・副題

Through a wide range of reading assignments, note taking, reflective journal activities, and in class discussions, the students will analyze creativity that leads to innovation in business, education, and science. This class is useful not only for English, but for anything you need to solve or resolve a problem by thinking creatively and hopefully saving time as well.

授業科目の到達目標

Students who have completed this course should be able to:
1. identify and discuss the main themes of the course and establish clear connections with secondary topics;
2. summarize, analyze, and synthesize the main arguments of academic readings and lectures through individual presentations as well as pair and group discussions; and
3. express critical understanding of the contents of the course in the form of a midterm research paper, and a final speaking presentation.

授業の内容

Students will develop a greater ability to know how to solve problems creatively, notice the traps of wasting time, and save time for potential learning gains in English. In addition, the students can build their vocabulary and critically analyze how much they study in depth to increase their innovation and creativity through reading, note taking, categorizing, mind-mapping, planning, writing, and discussions.

授業の方法・事前準備学修・事後展開学修

This class will focus on content material provided by the teacher for the students to actively engage in the lessons. In addition, there will be extensive listening and speaking through pairs, group, and all class discussions in English, based on the research the students have done for homework, which leads up to a written report and an individual speaking presentation with support from classmates and the teacher.

An electronic dictionary, dictionary function on a laptop, or a text dictionary is needed for this course.

This class can help how you can solve problems more creatively through innovation. It is not an easy course, but it can be rewarding beyond the English learning classroom. It is also a great alternative to taking AES2 classes.

受講希望者は、第1タームの授業については初回授業の翌日(土日祝を除く)午前9時までに、第2タームの授業についても第1ターム初回授業の翌日(土日祝を除く)午前9時までに履修登録してください。午前9時に制限人数を超過した場合は、履修登録を締め切り、抽選により受講者を決定します。抽選結果は締め切り日の翌日(土日祝を除く)までに、全学講義棟2号館1階の英語関係掲示板及びWeb学生システムのメッセージでお知らせしますので、必ず確認してください。なお、抽選により受講不可の決定がされた場合は、大学が履修登録を取り消します。また、午前9時に制限人数を超過していない場合は、引き続き履修登録できますが、制限人数に達した時点で履修登録を締め切ります。なお、抽選後にキャンセルが出て空きが生じた場合、再び定員に達するまで先着順で登録することができます。ただし、登録できるのは、当該科目の抽選にはずれた方に限ります。
