This will be a basic introduction to Economics taught in the English language. We will cover both microeconomics and macroeconomics. This course will introduce you to the main tools, theories and models used in economic analysis. It will also introduce the main conclusions and some typical policy based on these as well.
All models are standard basic Economic models, but you will be expected to understand and explain these in English.

授業科目の到達目標  
This course is introductory but intended to begin ensuring students develop a solid foundation of expertise in economic analysis. By the end, students should have a basic understanding of core concepts of Economics and the policy implications. This course aims to enable students to acquire the core expertise of their major.

This is a basic Economic theory and application course intended to introduce core microeconomic & macroeconomic models which will prepare students for more specialised courses within Economics. Passing the course is only possible if sufficient knowledge is demonstrated that indicated the student will be able to handle the intermediate course.
University policy for a 2 credits / 15 lesson course: Total of 8 hours per 2 classes
HOWEVER, this will vary for individual students based on prior knowledge of the Economic concepts and the English used to explain this. You are expected to read the textbooks and handouts as part of your preparation.

授業の内容  
We will study basic topics in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
 
授業の方法  
This is a lecture course with required weekly classes and also reading of the digital PDF textbook. (Using alternative textbooks is also possible because most topics are common to all textbooks.)
The current plan is for grades to be based on two exams and a class participation score. A short mid-term exam & a longer final exam at the end of the term. These are compulsory. (There may be short examinations in other weeks which are not directing part of the final grade calculation but can affect your "Participation" grade.)
Passing of the course requires a passing average of the exams as well as also sufficient attendance.

University policy for a 2 credits / 15 lesson course: 4 hours of preparation and post-development study is a guideline for each class meeting.

The topics covered are standard for an introductory Economics course and hence it is expected that any decent textbook and internet search will be able to provide supplemental explanations of the material in English or the student's preferred language.
