Global Business and Strategies
 
授業科目の到達目標  
This course discusses emerging topics in the global business and strategies with emphasis on the Asian enterprises in the globalized context. The course aims to strengthening the students’ ability in logical and critical thinking, and problem solving, taking into account business ethics, from a truly global strategic perspective.

授業の内容  
This course discusses emerging topics about business and strategy of enterprises in the globalized context. These topics include global business environment, international market entry modes, international management, strategies in emerging markets, strategies of latecomer multinational enterprises, catch-up strategies, as well as technological innovation, knowledge management, and entrepreneurship. The course combines the latest scholarly research and real-world business cases that reflect recent global developments. Students will be exposed to problems and challenges pertinent to these topics. Based on relevant management concepts and theories, students will be asked to provide alternative effective solutions and recommendations, and to justify them. The course aims to strengthen the student’s ability in logical and critical thinking, and problem solving, taking into consideration business ethics, from a truly global strategic perspective.
 
授業の方法  
The course will be taught by a combination of lectures, case studies, classroom discussion, and student presentation. Students are required to complete a case research project of Asian enterprise doing business globally and a case research project of non-Asian enterprise doing business in Asia, and make presentation and discussion in the class. The class will be conducted according to the university's policy in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

成績評価の方法と観点  
The grading criteria are based on the student’s individual and group performance in the class participation, class presentation and discussion of assigned case studies and articles, case research projects, and final written examination.
1. Class Discussion and Participation (Individual) ................................. 20%
2. Assigned Case Studies Presentation and Discussion (Individual & Group) .......... 30%
3. Case Research Projects Presentation and Discussion (Individual & Group) ......... 30%
4. Final Written Examination (Individual) .......................................... 20%
 
成績評価基準  
埼玉大学単位修得の認定に関する規則に基づき、履修者が授業の到達目標をどれだけ達成したかに応じて以下の通り評価する。
「到達目標を超え、特に秀でている」=GP:4
「到達目標を超えている」=GP:3
「到達目標に十分達している」=GP:2
「到達目標に最低限達している」=GP:1
「到達目標に達していない」=GP:0。
なおGPが1.5、2.5、3.5と評価されることもある。
