This course uses required weekly lectures and also reading of the digital PDF textbook. (Using alternative textbooks is also possible because most topics are common to all textbooks.)
The current plan is for grades to be based on two exams and a class participation score. A short mid-term exam & a longer final exam at the end of the term. These are compulsory. (There may be short examinations in other weeks which are not directing part of the final grade calculation but can affect your "Participation" grade.

I will be recommending and referencing two freely downloadable textbooks:

CI: Curtis & Irvine: (2017)
“Principles of Microeconomics”
“Principles of Macroeconomics”

参考図書
備考 The recommended textbooks are simple, core Economics textbooks available for free download.
The topics covered are standard for an introductory Economics course and hence it is expected that any decent textbook and internet search will be able to provide supplemental explanations of the material in English or the student's preferred language.

学生へのメッセージ
This is an introduction to the principles and tools of Economics taught entirely in English. This course will focus on theory using graphical representations of the topics.
I understand that this semester the classes will be especially challenging with the Corona Virus concerns and not meeting on campus in the same way as usual. I will remain available in ONLINE OFFICE HOURS and by EMAIL.
