授業の内容  
Weekly reading targets using graded readers combined with structured reading activities in class.

*Please note, due to issues with Covid 19, this class will likely be on Zoom.
 
授業の方法・事前準備学修・事後展開学修  
Students will have access to a graded reader library and will be required to read a minimum of 500 pages per semester. Classwork will involve the use of a separate reading text which will be used to develop specific reading and discussion skills with students working in groups or pairs to complete various tasks.

Week 6: Graded reader group work and intensive reading/ unseen text activities 4.
Week 7: Vocabulary test from unseen texts.
Week 8: Graded reader group work and intensive reading/ unseen text activities 6.
Week 9: Graded reader group work and intensive reading/ unseen text activities 7.
Week 10: Graded reader group work and intensive reading/ unseen text activities 8.
Week 11: Graded reader group work and intensive reading/ unseen text activities 9.

成績評価方法  
Evaluation will be based on classwork (50%) Completion of set reading pages of graded readers with the submission of reading reports (50%).

Adequate class preparation, participation in class activities and meeting reading task criteria.

* If the number of students wishing to register for this class exceeds the quota of 15 - 20 there will be a lottery in the first week's class. If a lottery is conducted in the first class and numbers are decided, students attending for the first time in the second class cannot register for this term's classes.
